Attending to Our Bodies: A Sacred Task

Attending to Our Bodies: A Sacred Task

That is, when everything moves fast, what goes on, for that matter, almost always gets the least of our attention, that we tend to forget about the most important fact of them all: our physical well-being. But still, we must remember, with all due respect, that we are to take care of ourselves because our body is the temple, as written in the Bible.

Below are eight primary reasons why health and wellness should be at your list.

Our bodies are sacred.

The Bible reminds us that we are a temple of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and, by extension, we should treat it with reverence. An honor of the body equals the honor shown to the deity dwelling within us.

 Better Quality of Life

Taking good care of the body gives one a better quality of life. Very much can be done to ensure that our physical and mental health is significantly improved; therefore, we will be leading much more vibrant and satisfying lives through exercising our bodies regularly, observing proper diets, and gaining enough sleep.

Longer life expectancy

Habits that are good for the body are shown to lead us to live longer. By avoiding harmful substances, keeping our body in motion, and providing proper nutrients, we can live longer and enjoy more time with family.

Improved Mental Health

The issue of physical health is so closely related to that of mental health. Bodily exercise boosts the release of endorphins, which then enhance the moods of individuals and lower the stress level experienced. A good diet can also help support brain function and lower symptoms associated with emotional stability.

 Increased Energy Levels

When we care for our bodies, we feel much energy. All these empower us to be more productive in what we do with tremendous enthusiasm and zest in meeting the demands of life.

Preventing diseases

Healthy lifestyles avoid chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and obesity. We mitigate risks through informed choices about our diet, exercise, and adoption of healthy practices.

Setting a Positive Example

Prioritizing our health will indirectly set an excellent example for our children and grandchildren. We can lead them in a good way so they can also have the same good habits when it comes to health and realize how important it is to take care of their body.

Living Out Our Purpose

Our bodies are to be given the necessary care to be able to fulfill their purpose. Health enables a person to serve other human beings, reach for their goals in life, and work within their communities more effectively and pleasurably.

Our bodies are the temple, and definitely, care for the divine gift is an honorable duty. By living healthily, we revere the sacred and bring quality into life, others who see us could be inspired to do the same. Let’s be committed to caring for our bodies to achieve the purpose in life with much exuberance.
